The NCFI offers its attendees hands-on training with the latest computer forensics tools and techniques. The goal of the institute is to help state and local law enforcement agencies keep up with the ever-changing landscape of computer crime.

In addition to law enforcement officers and prosecutors, the NCFI also trains judges, court personnel, and members of district attorney’s offices. The institute offers both basic and advanced courses on topics such as digital evidence collection and investigation, cybercrime prosecution, and mobile device forensics.

The bill was unanimously approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee in May and now heads to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
